Dr. Kasturi Bhattacharjee has completed her post-graduation in Ophthalmology from the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, India in 1996 and Post Graduate, Leadership in Medicine South East Asia program from Harvard Medical School, USA in 2021. She has done fellowship in Oculoplastics at Medical Research Foundation Sankara Nethralaya Chennai, India and observership under Dr Robert Goldberg and Dr Daniel Rootman in Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA Stein Eye Institute, USA and in the Division of Oculoplastics and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins University, USA. Additionally, she has received the prestigious DCERT Fellowship from ARVO, USA.

 

Dr Bhattacharjee is a global Examiner for FRCS and has participated in many clinical and basic science researches including stem cell research. She has over 109 peer-reviewed publications and contributed 22 chapters in textbook of Ophthalmology and is recipient of 50 National and International awards.

Currently, she is the Director of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya (SSDN) group of Institutions at Guwahati, India and is also heading the department of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Facial Aesthetics and Ocular Oncology Division at SSDN. She is an international member of American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Member Editorial Board of AAO EyeNet Magazine, USA, Section Editor (Facial Plastics) Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Chairman AIOS FAICO Oculoplasty Subspecialty Committee.

Dr Bhattacharjee is the Chairman Scientific Committee (Scientific Program Coordinator) of Oculoplastics Association of India and Member Academic and Research Committee of All India Ophthalmological Society.
