About:

Dr. Mary Rose Pe-Yan is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. She is a consultant ophthalmologist at the Philippines General Hospital Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, where she is Chief of the Orbit Service, and at the St. Luke’s Medical Center Eye Institute. She is one of the six mentors in the only fellowship program in the Philippines for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Pe-Yan graduated cum laude with a degree in B.S. Biology from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She finished her medical degree at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, where she was awarded Outstanding Intern in Ophthalmology. She completed her Residency Training in Ophthalmology at the Philippine General Hospital and her Fellowship Training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the West Virginia University Eye Institute.

Dr. Pe-Yan is a Past President of the Philippine Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and a founding member of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Her research interests include management and prosthetic rehabilitation of the anophthalmic socket, orbital trauma and fractures, and ophthalmic applications of botulinum toxin.
